I give it 3 stars. As for the myth solving part, it was weak and did not ring (to me). The 3rd episode rendered the whole series a “1-minute”-solve-the-case taste.Firstly, the doctor’s death was totally unwarranted. I might asserted that Hugh Laurie had planned the doctor’s exuant to be, somewhat, grandeur and regretful. It was an unnecessary murder. Next, Hugh Laurie did not take the full advantage of the first murder. Alan Castairs, according to Dame’s story, came back from the wild to investigate his friend’s fishy death. So Moira and her gang ridded him. But how did Hugh Laurie explain it in the end of the mini series? (Go watch the show and check for yourselves:) Then the Evans! Evans! Evans! The most important Evans! Wrong cast, in my humble opinion. Hugh and his casting group depicted her as an old, nitwit character. (But applause for she crushing the vase at the crucial moment to draw a period to the adventure. What a motion!) Here, I hesitated about my judge, the book version or the tv version, which one is better? (Save for a future update )*when talk about Gladys Evans Roberts, it reminded me of one thing, Hugh Laurie changed the amount of the will. In Dame’s book, it were 700,000 pound. How much in this new adaptation? (Check by yourselves:)Aha! The fourth thing was that Hugh Laurie let the murder of brother ffrench- Henry unsolved. The audience knew it from Roger’s mouth. He confessed the crime vaguely in his cell. Nevertheless, in Dame’s book, disentangling this last murder helped to push the story to its climax!Alas, of all the above analyses, one can feel that Hugh changed the tone (of myth decoding) to a great adventure. The book Why was one of my favourite of Dame’s, without the lovely dark Miss Marple, the big name Poirot, nor Tommy an’ Tuppence. My personal interest lies on the solution which may be spiced up by the adventure, but absolutely vice versa. 3 stars by itself1 star off by leaving Henry’s murder unsolved1/2 star for far cry better than the iTV miss Marple series1 star for faithfully adapted Dame’s book!————————————————————3 and 1/2 star for this new adaptation.I scribbled these down after finishing the 3 episodes."<>"" && " 3.5 stars to this new adaptation on one of my favourite Dame's bookThe adventure part was smooth, fun, and progressing rapidly.
